There are 4 popular local sandy beaches within easy reach from the property - all are part of Portuguese Silver Coast (Costa de Prata), just north from Lisbon.
The nearest beach Sao-Martinho do Porto is only 5 minutes drive away. Parking is FREE of charge in Sao-Martinho, even on the seafront near the beach. It was voted as one of the top 10 beaches in Portugal. Its vast sweep of sand curls around an almost land-locked bay to form a natural 'swimming pool' (pictured below). This shelter makes it one of the warmest and safest places to swim on the coast, making it ideal for families. The seafront is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants and also includes a lovely children's playground. Coffee, sandwiches, wine are much cheaper than in the UK.

Just around the corner is Foz do Arelho bay, about 10 minutes away by car. On the way you can stop at a designated viewing point and enjoy the wonderful views. Foz do Arelho is another natural harbour and a safe beach for the children. There are cafes and bars on the seafront. Free parking.
Nazare town and a stunning beach is 15-20 minutes drive away. Once a picturesque fishing village, it has become a popular resort with a traditional character. It has a long sandy beach (considered by some to be among the best beaches of Portugal), crowded with tourists in the summer. Nazare has a large number of cafes, seafood restaurants and shops.
