This holiday home is situated on the Portuguese Silver Coast (Costa de Prata). A spectacular coastline, just north from Lisbon, it has a large number of vast sandy beaches and popular family resorts. It is only 55 minutes drive from Lisbon Airport.

The property is located in a village of Alfeizerao, just outside holiday town of Sao-Martinho do Porto. The village, Alfeizerao, has cafes, shops, a small supermarket, a pharmacy and a bank with a 24 hours cash-machine, a petrol station and a daily fruit & veg market. It is just 5 minutes drive from Sao-Martino do Porto town and its sheltered family-friendly beach, shaped as a horse-shoe (pictured below). The village is easily accessible from A8 motorway, junction 21. Two nearby towns, Sao-Martinho Do Porto and Caldas Da Rainha, have many cafes, restaurants and shops.

There are several large supermarkets 5-10 minutes drive from the village in the nearby town of Caldas Da Rainha. Supermarkets include Lidl, Aldi and also Modelo and Pingo Doce (can be compared to British Tesco and Sainsbury's). Caldas Da Rainha town centre offers a wonderful daily fruit & veg market until 12pm.

Sao-Martinho do Porto town and the beach is only 5 minutes drive away. Parking is FREE of charge in Sao Martinho, even on the seafront near the beach. The town offers a large number of shops, restaurants, coffee-shops and supermarkets. The seafront is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants and also includes a lovely children's playground. There is a small market every day (except Monday). Coffee, sandwiches and especially wine are much cheaper than in the UK. Enjoy a glass of wine while looking out over the "silver" sea!

The famous beach at Sao Martinho do Porto was voted as one of the top 10 beaches in Portugal by The AA Essential Guide. Its vast sweep of sand curls around an almost land-locked bay to form a natural swimming pool. Caldas da Rainha town is 10 minutes by car and is a bustling town of 50,000 people. It has shopping centres, restaurants and many lively cafes. The medieval town and castle of Obidos is 15 minutes by car. Obidos lagoon with some wonderful views is 20-25 minutes by car. The historic town of Alcobaca and National Park Serra de Aire e Candeeiros are 30 minutes away. Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, and Fatima are 50 minutes drive on A8 motorway.
